One of North West England's largest companies seeks to recruit a commercial solicitor to assume a brand new Legal Counsel role at its offices in Cheshire. This legal team has been growing over the past couple of years and you would be joining a great group of lawyers. Ideally you will have a general commercial background, strong commercial acumen, good drafting skills and a team player. This is a varied role that will see you advise on a range of work including, IP/IT and construction matters. The Head of Legal is happy to consider lawyers coming from a non-contentious or contentious background.
Our client is a multi-billion turnover global company, and one of North West England's largest companies. It produces, sells and distributes business critical products that are used by consumers and businesses alike, and it's operations are critical to the ongoing success of UK PLC.
To support it's UK operations, our client seeks to recruit a Legal Counsel to be based at it's offices in Cheshire. This is easily commutable from Liverpool, Chester, Warrington, parts of Manchester and similar locations in North West England and North Wales.
Role - Legal Counsel:
Reporting into the General Counsel and working alongside two experienced and high-calibre Senior Legal Counsel, you will be joining a growing legal team that undertakes a varied and valued mix of legal and commercial work.
Specific duties are anticipated to include day to day and project specific commercial contracts; regulatory and governance matters; corporate transactions; business projects; dispute management and resolution; litigation; PR and marketing activity; IP and brand protection; and some international matters - working with colleagues in Europe and further afield.
The role comes with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and, due to the breadth of work on offer, there is plenty of variety and interesting work to go round.
It is anticipated that the Legal Counsel will have circa 6-10 years' PQE. You will ideally be working as a general commercial, company commercial, construction or commercial litigation solicitor, and have some existing in-house experience.
You should possess an interest in working in-house for a large manufacturing company, and you should be willing to working on a diverse range of contracts covering a wide variety of legal and commercial matters. A flexible attitude and approach is key.
