You'll be driven, motivated and technically strong, with excellent academics and an ability to develop strong and lasting relationships with clients and colleagues. In return, the firm can offer you progression opportunities, whilst working in a collaborative and cohesive national team who is committed to helping you succeed in your career in pensions law. You'll be rewarded with a competitive salary and a strong benefits package including (of course!) a great pension.
This firms Pensions practice group is one of the largest and most experienced pure pensions teams in the UK legal market. They pride themselves on being at the forefront of pensions developments and actively seek to influence UK government policy.
The work covers a number of areas and the firm is particularly well-known for going the extra mile for their clients. They do this by actively contributing to all the major UK pensions professional bodies, providing secondments to some of their major clients' in-house pension departments, as well as to the Pensions Regulator and the Pensions Protection Fund, and constructively responding to government consultations on proposed policy changes.
The London team is very active in key sectors including utilities, manufacturing, chemical, engineering, automotive, healthcare, financial services, infrastructure, local government and charity/not for profit. As a result, you can expect to gain experience in, and exposure to, a broad range of high-quality work from the outset, and a culture that encourages personal development, leadership and lots of involvement with the business and its clients.
The work is technical and challenging, and really allows you to stretch and develop your knowledge of the sector and of the law. Importantly, this is a friendly and supportive team which believes in offering personal development opportunities and the chance to really stretch you in a range of ways. The team has professional support lawyers who are on hand to offer technical training and support, and they are known to have a strong Learning & Development team who are able to help you with developing your softer skills through a variety of learning methods. Of course, in a market-leading team like this one, there are plenty of very experienced lawyers from whom to learn too!
Ideally, the firm are looking for a 2 - 4 year qualified individual with a good academic background and strong interest in being a specialist pensions lawyer. You will work alongside their highly-acclaimed Partners and strong Associate team (which operates nationally) to strengthen and broaden client relationships.
