Energy, Infrastructure and Environmental Associate/ Senior Associate - City of London - Private Practice Tier 1, global, law firm has retained us to recruit a talented and ambitious Energy Solicitor to continued, strategic, expansion. The Firm This is a multinational, Global 100, law firm, with nearly 3500 employees operating out of 26 locations across Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. Their global reach ensures that they are well-placed to advise on complex multi-jurisdictional matters across a full range of legal disciplines. The firm has significant credentials in the technology, financial services, energy, infrastructure, real estate, and advanced manufacturing sectors. Services provided across these sectors include asset management and investment funds, corporate and M&A, commercial, competition, litigation and arbitration, banking, restructuring, insurance, regulatory, construction, projects, pensions, property, planning and environmental, procurement, outsourcing, employment, share plans and incentives, technology and tax advice. The Team The department is the largest dedicated planning team in the UK with specialists covering a wide range of major projects. The Energy & Infrastructure specialists, where this role is primarily based, cover all forms of energy, such as offshore wind, large scale solar, carbon capture plants, nuclear, energy networks and pipelines, and infrastructure, such as new roads, rail, airports and new settlements. Our clients include developers, funders, investors, local authorities and Government bodies. Their breadth of experience coupled with our specialist knowledge means that, whether we are advising on a complex multi-million pound energy project or the acquisition, funding or sale of an asset, clients receive the legal support they require, when and how they want it - often coupled with other legal services delivered by colleagues as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team specialising in Energy and Infrastructure projects. The Role This is a truly varied role, with no two days being alike. The role involves the following: * transactional corporate and property support for private and public sector clients; * regulatory advice on all aspects of operational environmental issues for a range of clients in the infrastructure, energy and manufacturing sectors as well as others; * defence of civil and criminal environmental claims; and * support for renewable energy, conventional energy and nuclear projects, where our clients include developers, funders and investors involved in major energy, infrastructure and development projects. The Candidate You will have solid experience in the Energy Sector, gained in a large UK law firm. You will have around 5 years pqe. The role requires a lawyer who is technically excellent, but, equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. We are looking for a team player with a strong client focussed approach, who is keen to support our Environment Team across the full spectrum of their work.
