Corporate Crime and Investigations Solicitor - City of London - Private Practice Tier 1, global, law firm has retained us to recruit a Corporate Crime and Investigations Solicitor to join at a senior level, due to the focused, strategic, expansion. The Team The Global Investigations Department is a lawyer led multidisciplinary team which helps clients conduct complex investigations that are streamlined to enable the efficient and effective management of compliance and criminal risks. The core team of lawyers' guide and lead investigations, advise on legal and regulatory risk, and represent clients when they need to initiate or defend proceedings. The legal team consists of criminal defence, international investigations specialists, former senior prosecutors, and senior consultants from key UK law enforcement functions. Our work spans the full range of economic crime and regulatory issues faced by businesses. The Role You will enjoy a broad and interesting programme of works ranging from SFO/FCA/HMRC and other law enforcement investigations; international development bank investigations and debarment related work; internal investigations and self-reporting/voluntary disclosures to the SFO, FCA, HMRC (Tax and export controls), ICO and OFSI; risk advisory work covering bribery, fraud, cyber, AML, sanctions, and export controls. The Candidate You will have experience of advising companies in connection with white collar / economic crime investigations and prosecutions with a particular focus on corporate fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering and tax frauds. Experience in criminal defence of financial services and/or OFGEM investigations, MLRs, tax/VAT, sanctions and other regulatory offences will also be useful. You will be well versed in advising businesses on the implementation of effective compliance programmes as well as experience of conducting internal investigations on behalf of corporates. As this is a senior position, it will suit a Solicitor with around 5 years PQE in this sector.
