Data Protection & Privacy Lawyer - City of London - Private Practice Global legal services provider has retained us to recruit a talented and ambitious Data Protection & Privacy lawyer due to the focused, strategic, expansion. The Firm This is a multinational law firm advising clients in 145 different countries. Their impressive, global, client base, from multinational conglomerates to SME's rely on them for precise and considered legal advice on complex multi-jurisdictional matters across a full range of legal disciplines. The Team The information law team delivers market leading, industry specific data protection, freedom of information and data breach/cyber expertise. Work is growing fast here, resulting in an exciting opportunity for a new team member to help deliver our data protection advice to clients across the firm. This is a dynamic team where every team member can make his or her own mark. Solicitors are encouraged to take responsibility for leading on projects, developing and leading client relationships, contributing to the team's business development plans, focusing on sector activity and supporting the growth of more junior team members. The Role You can expect a varied and interesting workload, focused on the aim of assisting clients to meet commercial objectives and manage risk including: · Providing complex advice such as: data protection impact assessments; risk based analysis of data protection compliance of new projects and systems; the use of artificial intelligence; and structuring new initiatives, such as big data projects, marketing strategy and data sharing. · Assisting with responses to ICO complaints and defending investigations. · Dealing with complex data subject requests. · Advising on the use of targeted advertising, cookies and new technologies. · Drafting and negotiating data protection clauses. · Advising on issues arising out of cross border transfers of data. The Candidate You will have: · Solid experience in Data Protection & Privacy Law. · Professional certifications such as IAPP CIPP/E and CIPM are desired (but not essential).
