Privacy & Data Protection / Commercial Solicitor - City of London Industry leading, international law firm is looking to recruit an associate privacy and data protection lawyer due to the continued expansion of its commercial and technology team. The Firm This international firm advices clients, who are at the cutting edge of innovation, on their evolving use of data; from early stage start ups, to multi national conglomerates. The firm comprises some of the brightest talent in the industry, providing bespoke, client focussed advice and solutions. The Team The privacy and data team provide specialist knowledge within the commercial & technology division. They provide data protection and privacy advice on global projects and stand alone matters alike, over a vast range of industries and sectors. The Role You can expect a varied workload of domestic and global projects, with focus on: · Managing and delivering data protection compliance projects · Mentoring junior members of the team · Developing relationships with key clients. · Liaising with regulatory bodies and supervising breach of data reporting. · Drafting and negotiating data protection clauses. · Formulating client friendly advice as to the delineation between controllers and processors, and making recommendations to clients that are sensitive to those statuses. · Providing detailed advice in a manner which balances compliance requirements with client's commercial strategies and risk appetite. · Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts The Candidate An Associate or Senior Associate holding a significant level post qualification experience with a focus on data protection / privacy.
