Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Solicitor - City of London - In House Tier 1, global law firm has retained us to recruit a talented and ambitious Compliance & Risk Associate Solicitor due to strategic expansion. The Firm This is a multinational, Global 100, law firm, with nearly 3500 employees operating out of 26 locations across Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. Their global reach ensures that they are well-placed to advise on complex multi-jurisdictional matters across a full range of legal disciplines. The firm has significant credentials in the technology, financial services, energy, infrastructure, real estate, and advanced manufacturing sectors. Services provided across these sectors include asset management and investment funds, corporate and M&A, commercial, competition, litigation and arbitration, banking, restructuring, insurance, regulatory, construction, projects, pensions, property, planning and environmental, procurement, outsourcing, employment, share plans and incentives, technology and tax advice. The Team The Risk & Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring compliance with the firm's professional and regulatory obligations, managing the firm's risk, claims and complaints and ensuring appropriate levels of PI cover. It is led by the Director of Risk and their International Conflicts Counsel. The team provides support to all of the firm's offices in and outside of the UK. The team operates a centre of excellence approach working with lawyers and representatives across the various business functions, such as Finance, HR and IT and is very much a respected and a highly valued team which contributes to the success of the firm and in supporting its purpose and values. The Role This is a truly varied role, with no two days being alike. The role involves the following: · assisting in managing the content of the firm's template engagement letters and terms of business for legal services, and keeping them up to date to reflect current practice and minimise risk; · dealing with Outside Counsel Guidelines/client terms- to include advising and liaising with the client relationship team on key risk issues; · drafting terms for new technology-enabled legal services and technology-based products and solutions; · addressing intellectual property considerations in / providing IP content · addressing data protection issues · drafting and maintaining firm wide precedents including non-disclosure agreements, reliance letters and letters of instruction to third parties; · providing advice and guidance on issues such as Public Policy, audits, insider lists and lobbying; · ad hoc projects - e.g. drafting and maintaining the firm's policy for Anti Facilitation of Tax Evasion; · providing ad hoc legal advice to lawyers and Business Operations teams on risk issues and OCG that arise. The Candidate You will have solid experience of drafting and negotiating terms and conditions (including end-user terms) which will recognise this situation and adequately protect the firm. Experience of negotiating terms relating to intellectual property rights, and finding an appropriate balance of rights and restrictions will be advantageous.
