Senior Patent Attorney

Senior Patent Attorney - City of London - Private Practice Global legal services provider is seeking a senior Patent Attorney to head up and lead their Patent Department within the Commercial, Tech and Data Team. The Team The Patent Department is committed to becoming the strategic nerve centre for the various capability groups within their network, to enable their clients to take a more proactive approach to IP, by covering the advisory lifecycle of their intellectual property needs, building on the existing discrete services already provided. The Role The firm is looking for a motivated, entrepreneurial patent attorney or patent lawyer with experience of some or all of the areas below, strong technical skills, and a desire to work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. A key requirement of the role is a genuine desire to use your patent law experience and knowledge to deliver a wider and more commercial set of services to clients than just a narrow focus on patent applications and defence. The other key requirement is that you may have to deal with other intellectual property rights (trade secrets, copyright, trademarks) although specific and detailed expertise in these other intellectual property rights is not a requirement. The Candidate A senior level, chartered, patent attorney or patent lawyer with some experience of: IP Strategy: - Patent Landscaping - IP Portfolio Optimisation - Patent / other IP Licensing - IP Due Diligence IP Operations: - Innovation governance and operating model - Strategy and execution support around IP registration and management (although execution will be outsourced) IP Risk Management: - IP audits - IP risks and controls - IP policies.
