COURT OF PROTECTION SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE 3 PQE - PARTNER LEVEL THE FIRM - Legal 500 listed, modern full service law firm - Based in the heart of Newcastle City Centre - State of the art offices - One of the largest Private Client teams in the North East THE ROLE - You will become an integral member of the firms highly regarded Private Client team, acting as a Court of Protection appointed Professional Deputy - You will handle your own Court of Protection caseload, providing important and essential legal advice to individuals who lack mental capacity to make decisions related to their property , personal welfare and financial matters - You will be responsible for making enquiries to benefits agencies, managing financial issues, including speaking to financial advisors on the client's behalf, paying bills, as well speaking to social services or care providers - You will also be responsible for supporting with business development activities within the Private Client team and across the wider firm THE REQUIREMENTS - The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor and have experience of acting as a Court of Protection appointed Professional Deputy - You will experience working closely with Case Managers, Financial Advisors and Local Authorities, and be experienced with Mental capacity work - The team are open to having conversations with candidates from 3 years PQE, up to Partner level, so all are encouraged to apply, or come along for an informal discussion THE BENEFITS - Excellent benefits package - Excellent working environment - Hybrid working and flexible working options - Strong CSR program and social team events For more information on this Court of Protection Solicitor role in Newcastle, please contact Rozie Hunter at BCL Legal BCL Legal is an equal opportunities employer.
