In house litigation solicitor

THE COMPANY This highly successful Newcastle based business has been exceptionally successful in the past few years, has a turnover in the many hundreds of millions, and has built a well sized and high calibre legal team. THE ROLE The legal team is now looking to recruit a lawyer to join the team, with around 50% of the role having a litigation focus. This would be supporting with the management of general litigation including supplier disputes and any customer claims, as well as the group's public and employee liability claims, building strong working relationships with our insurance brokers and claims' handlers and providing appropriate instructions where necessary.; The rest of the role would focus on consumer law (dealing with marketing, advertising queries and advising on business and operational processes), and commercial contracts - reviewing, advising on and amending supplier contracts for the procurement of a wide ranges of goods and services used throughout the group. ABOUT YOU This role would best suit someone at the earlier stage of their career, potentially even NQ level, up to c 3years PQE. A contentious background, and understanding of civil litigation procedures is essential This is a superb opportunity from someone coming from a contentious background, where there might not be as many opportunities to move in house, to use your existing knowledge and gaining new commercial skills as well. The team is sizable enough that more senior solicitors will be able to support to help you continue to develop your skills, and training in those areas you may not be familiar with will be provided.
