This highly successful and well known company has an established and sizeable in house legal team that has increased in importance and size over the past few years. It has a strong and positive culture as a place to work and attracted high calibre lawyers to work as in house legal counsel.
There is a current need to recruit an in house counsel to the commercial and procurement team. This role will incorporate drafting and negotiating procurement agreements, including service, goods, consultancy, agency, high value material outsourcing deals and general commercial agreements, and advising on how to manage any associated risks and strengthen relationships with suppliers. You'll possess (or have the skills to develop) good knowledge of data protection, competition law and IP advice for goods/ services agreements. You'll also need exceptional commercial awareness, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and good change management skills
You'll be a qualified lawyer (solicitor or qualified by experience) with experience gained in a respected law firm or other in house team. You'll need to be confident and professional, and have exceptional communication skills. Whilst you'll be part of a wider team, you'll also need to work under your own initiative, under pressure and to tight timescales, and so you'll need excellent organisational skills.
