BCL Legal Manchester continues work with the Booth Centre

Earlier this year, 16 of us from the Manchester team attended the Booth Centre (over two days) to undertake a day’s volunteering. The team served food to the local community and took part in activities, including a musical session, philosophy workshop and arts and craft class.

The Booth centre, founded in 1995, works alongside people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness to bring about positive change in their lives. Their vision is for everyone to have a secure home and the opportunity to have a good quality of life.

We're pleased to announce that in addition to voluntary work at the centre itself, the Manchester office is working closely with the Booth Centre and has signed up to several 2019/2020 fundraising activities.

A few of our team’s runners have put their hand up for next year's Manchester 10K; we continue to donate to our Booth Centre donation box (new socks, underwear, deodorant and much more) on a weekly basis; we have several BCL yogis who are taking part in The Life Centre North's Yogathon in June; as well as some pro bono work.

The centre’s biggest fundraiser is the Manchester Sleepout, which takes place in November.

We were very lucky to have the centre's development manager, Amy Hinks, present to the wider team at the BCL Manchester office last week. There's so much to get involved in and raise money for!

If you’re based in Manchester, you can sign-up to the Sleepout here. We’ll share more details of our Just Giving page soon.

Look out for further updates in The Brief, on the blog and on our social media channels.

We want to raise as much money for the Booth Centre as possible. Please help us to do so!
