Celebrating Conveyancing
Wednesday 24th September saw the Ricoh Arena in Coventry play host to the annual Law Firm Services Conveyancing Conference and Awards. BCL Legal played its part again and for the second year in succession we sponsored the successful event.
The conference during the day is made up of a series of topical lectures and interactive sessions all based around residential property topics relevant to those in the industry. Notable speakers this year included Peter Rodd who is the Chair of the Law Society Property Section; Paul, Hajek, Principal of Clutton Cox whose firm won the award for Best Marketing and use of Social Media; Professor Ian Cooper; BBC presenter Adam Shaw, who was the keynote speaker. Rounding up the day’s events was a debate which featured four heavyweight lenders, namely, Lloyds, Santander, Nationwide and The Coventry Building Society.
The conference is an excellent way for lawyers to gain 5 CPD points as well as providing a great platform to network with other industry professionals.
Following the conference the room is transformed and plays host to the LFS Conveyancing Awards which is a Gala Dinner and awards ceremony for those nominated. The categories are as follows: Regional Conveyancing Firm of the Year; Direct Conveyancing Firm of the year; Best Marketing and use of Social Media 2014; Young Conveyancer 2014; Estate Agency Conveyancing Firm of the Year and Overall Conveyancing Firm of the Year.
On arrival guests were greeted by a champagne reception before being seated for dinner. There was a charity raffle with proceeds being raised for two very worthwhile charities; the organisers have confirmed that £6,500 was raised on the night which was a fantastic effort.
After the awards the house band took to the stage and guests danced the night away until the house lights came on at 1am.
