C&I Group Re-launch event
BCL legal is delighted to be partnering with the Commerce & Industry Group on their upcoming re-launch, with a new committee and a new name! They are rebranding the regional group, ‘C&I Yorkshire’ and hosting a re-launch event in Granary Wharf, Leeds, on Thursday 8th October.
As well as being a great opportunity for the new committee members to introduce themselves and for members to network, it will be the perfect opportunity for you to tell us what you want from C&I Yorkshire. There will be a suggestions board on the night, so you can give us your feedback.
The event is free to in house counsel from across the region, and there will be wine tasting and a buffet provided, with the Candlebar having carefully selected different wines for you to try, and an expert on hand to talk us through the selections. If you’d like to attend, let us know your interest so we can have an idea of numbers attending.
With the re-launch of the region, The C&I Group thought it would also be a good time to refresh the annual dinner, at a new venue, with a new format and at a new time of year. The 2016 annual dinner is going to be themed, ‘Yorkshire’, and will be held at an iconic Yorkshire venue. This will take pace on Friday 5th February 2016. When speaking with in house counsel across the region, it is generally felt working that working in house provides an interesting and varied career, and is often perceived to have many advantages over working as a lawyer in a law firm. Yet one comment I hear regularly is around working with other lawyers – you sometimes miss it! Webinars are of course a very useful way of staying up to date with technical legal matters but the face to face contact with one’s in house peers also provides a highly useful forum for exchange of idea and thoughts, and to develop informal contact. These social events are a great way of staying in touch, so do I hope you will be able to attend.
