Fantastic Four: Rise of the Seminar Season

We have been able to offer a variety of seminars to in house lawyers over the last few years, and this year looks to be busier than ever.  We have four fantastic seminars on the way in Manchester throughout March and April, providing in house lawyers with a possible total of 10 CPD points.

For starters, Addleshaw Goddard is following up from its February session on Liability, Indemnities, Remedies and Limitations with a session on Terminating Contracts (6 March).  Given the current climate, parties are terminating contracts more frequently, and it is more important than ever to provide sensible exit options and avoid the pitfalls of termination.  Addleshaw Goddard Litigation Partner Susan Garrett and Commercial Partner Paul Bentham will be presenting on how to protect against the nightmare of a bitter, high-profile and expensive dispute by careful drafting of contracts at the outset.

Next in line is DLA Piper’s Annual Legal Update Seminar (13 March), a half day seminar covering recent legal developments and practical topics of relevance to in house lawyers.  DLA will be talking attendees through the latest in employment, planning and the Localism Act, commercial litigation, real estate, contract law, refinancing, auto-enrolment, corporate, and regulatory.

Third is a Masterclass in Procurement from DWF (21 March).  DWF’s panel of procurement experts will focus on how to add value and profit to your bottom line, including developing a sourcing strategy from a legal perspective, effortless engagement, creating relationships that matter, and dealing with divorce for when things go wrong…

And last but far from least is Pannone’s ever popular In House Lawyer Seminar (26 April).  Solicitors from Pannone will be presenting on a variety of topics of relevance to in house lawyers, including exclusion clauses and limitation of liability, breach of confidentiality and restrictive covenants, equality legislation, and health & safety.  In addition to the main talks, for the first time attendees will be able to select form a choice of 3 specialist subjects for interactive workshop sessions, such as IT disputes, brand protection, and environmental claims insurance.

So, there should be something for everybody…  As always, please contact Lauren Field in the in house team on laurenfield@bcllegal.com or 0845 241 0933 if you would like to attend.

Mark Levine and Ruth Taylor look forward to joining you for breakfast, lunch, or even a glass of wine at one or more of these spring-time seminars.
