Is it too soon to blog about the 2017?
As the year reaches its climax, BCL Legal’s team in Birmingham is still busily organising interviews – trying to help candidates secure roles and clients to fill positions before the new year.
2016 has been an incredibly busy, with loads of recruitment by the regions law firms both large and small. To date in 2016 BCL Legal’s Birmingham team has placed 179 lawyers into permanent positions in private practice law firms which is an increase of approximately 5% on 2015. We are hopefully that ultimately we’ll end up very close to 190 placements in total.
Obviously when the number of in-house placements is included, the total number of placements is significantly north of 200.
As the biggest private practice focused team in Birmingham, we’d obviously expect to be the most successful in the city. At BCL Legal we do our best to marry old fashioned recruitment values like excellent client service and a consultative manner with the very best in technological solutions. It is really heartening to see that this approach continues to work really well.
We’ve worked with some fantastic people in 2016 and hopefully made a real difference to the lives of some of our candidates. Equally it is great to see our client’s teams growing with engaged people who want to work hard and do well.
So what does 2017 have in store?
We are looking forward to the return from maternity leave of Bhavisha Duggal and Angharad Warren at different points in the year. Both excellent consultants; Bhav and AJ have a proven track record of assisting the Midlands law firms with recruitment. This combined with further recruitment into our team, will cement our position as the largest permanent recruitment team focussed on the legal sector in Birmingham.
There will be further investment in technology aimed at helping our consultants to do their jobs in an even more mobile fashion (because we all love recruitment so much we like to be able to work where ever we are), making certain that consultants have as much relevant data as possible at their finger tips and ensuring that our brand is even more visible.
When these things are combined, we should be able to provide an even more effective service to our clients (both candidates and law firms). We hope to push well beyond 200 placements in 2017 and further strengthen our position in the market place.
But what won’t change is our commitment to quality, our consultative approach and focus on a contingent recruitment model.
So in short despite breaking all previous records in 2016, despite already being the market leading team in our sector and despite having relationships with all major law firms in Birmingham we are not resting on our laurels and we are still seeking to become better at what we do.
