Raising Money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital

The interesting and very comforting thing about working for a business such as BCL Legal is how well looked after we are. I’m very lucky, having cut my teeth as a paralegal with three very reputable law firms before joining BCL Legal in 2016, I was at first concerned about moving into recruitment. Those who don’t work in recruitment and myself included before joining BCL Legal, may have a view of the industry as being somewhat cutthroat, harsh and unforgiving. BCL Legal is quite the opposite of that. We work to a strict set of values, the core of which is being caring and supportive. This translates into our work, our approach to candidates and clients. It also translates into the work we do outside of recruitment.

Having been established for 14 years now, we have found great success in being the biggest sole legal recruiter in the UK outside of London. With offices in Manchester, Birmingham and London we take a local approach. Our consultants are experts in their respective fields, both geographically and technically. It’s what sets us apart from other agencies throughout the UK. It is this local approach that has also allowed us to give something back to the communities we work in.

Each year we make a distinct effort to work with local charities. This year the Birmingham office is supporting the Birmingham Children’s Hospital with their Critical Journeys Appeal. The Critical Journeys Appeal helps towards raising money to equip four specialist ambulances with the latest life saving equipment. These ambulances will provide emergency transport for critically ill children across the region to the right units for the right treatment. They also help expectant mothers who need the assistance to be transferred between hospitals for specialist care, for either themselves or their babies.

We are trying to raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile cause by throwing a BCL Bingo Night! This is to be held at The Launderette on Gas Street on the 5th October! The night is intended to be filled with fun, bingo and socialising with professionals across the city.

There are a great number of worthy causes to support throughout the UK, and our teams in Manchester, Yorkshire, London and the North East are also supporting charitable causes with fundraising events throughout October and November.

So the important part: All for £20, street food will be provided, a free welcome drink and 2 games of bingo. There are happy hour prices at the bar until 7pm and free entry to the night club Six, if you area keen to carry the party on!

Of course we aim to engage the legal community as much as possible, but our doors are open to anyone and everyone to help fund this cause.
