The Lawyer Awards 2014

Wednesday night saw the great and the good of the legal profession attend The Lawyer Awards 2014 at The Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

I must say that with a total of 28 awards to get through I was expecting to want to leave half way through… I am delighted to say that the reality was entirely different! Not that I wanted more awards but due to a combination of the following it really was a great night!

Catrin Griffiths, editor of The Lawyer although she only spoke for a short while comes across as extremely eloquent and professional.

Our table: joining BCL’ers were lawyers from Balfour Beatty, Metro Bank, moneysupermarket.com and Pegasystems. If you are going to sit in your seat for a number of hours having a fun group of people really is a must!

Joanna Lumley: Joanna was the hostess for the night, handing out the awards, involved in the photos and general compere. She was ‘fabulous’ and I am not just saying that. She is of course a great actress but I don’t think that she could have kept the act up of being interested and engaged in the event for the whole time if she wasn’t. Whatever she was feeling internally, externally she gave off a great vibe that really kept everyone focused on the awards ceremony.

The ‘Big Ocean Band’ – great live music throughout the night.
