The firm / team:
· Successful candidates can look forward to joining a truly leading International Arbitration specialist, looking to strengthen their Arbitration offering with the addition of a talented junior/mid-level Associate.
· They have a reputation for the resolution of complex and ground-breaking international disputes.
· They handle high-profile corporate and sovereign State dispute cases with a seamless service.
· The firm specialises in high value and complex cases featuring international elements such as different domestic laws and arbitration seats, and clients and co-counsel based outside England and Wales.
The role:
· As an Arbitration Associate within the team, you can expect to undertake a broad range of work with a supportive collegiate department.
· Working on high-value, and complex investor-state arbitrations, public international law, and commercial arbitration matters.
· Working on disputes arising under public international law frameworks, bilateral/multilateral investment treaties, and state contracts.
· Assisting with or lead (depending on level) arbitration proceedings under, ICC, LCIA, ICSID, UNCITRAL and other institutional rules.
· Drafting memorials, submissions, witness statements, expert instructions and procedural documentation.
· Conducting detailed research on international law, to include, treaty interpretation, state responsibility, as well as jurisdictional issues and enforcement.
· Supporting case strategy and procedural planning alongside senior team members.
· Coordinating with international offices, local counsel, experts and clients across multiple jurisdictions.
· Participating in hearings, case management conferences and procedural applications.
About you:
· Applications are sought from talented Arbitration Associates, with at least two year of post qualification experience, gained in England & Wales or a similar, leading common law jurisdiction.
· You will possess strong academics, and a confident understanding of employment law, ideally from a Top 50/Legal 500 background.
· Candidates should have strong organisation skills and a keen interest in joining one of the world's most specialised firms.
· You will have a high degree of familiarity with English arbitration law and the rules of key arbitration institutions such as the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, and ICSID is key.
