Construction Solicitor (Non-Contentious) | Senior Associate | National Law Firm | Birmingham BCL Legal is delighted to be acting on a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate (or possibly Legal Director) level Construction Solicitor to join the highly regarded construction team of a leading national law firm in Birmingham. The Role Joining this dynamic and well-established team, your role will involve: * Advising on a wide range of non-contentious construction matters, working on major projects from inception through to completion. * Supporting high-profile infrastructure, residential, commercial, town centre redevelopment, urban regeneration, and portfolio acquisition/disposal projects. * Acting for a diverse client base including developers, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, and financial institutions. * Providing construction due diligence to support real estate, corporate, and banking teams on transactional matters. * Building and maintaining strong client relationships, with opportunities to contribute to business development initiatives. Team Expertise The team is known for its technical excellence and breadth of sector expertise, particularly in automotive, infrastructure, and coastal defence projects. Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will have: * At least 4 years' PQE, although more experienced applicants are encouraged to apply. * A solid background in non-contentious construction law, ideally gained at a reputable regional, national or international firm, or through relevant in-house experience. * Experience advising on development/infrastructure projects, real estate transactions, and corporate acquisition work. * Strong drafting and technical skills, with a thorough understanding of standard form construction contracts (particularly JCT and NEC) and associated documentation. * A preference for non-contentious work; however, candidates with a mixed practice (non-contentious/contentious) will also be considered. * A strong academic record (2:1 degree or above preferred) and excellent communication skills. * A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to thrive in a busy team environment.
