Financial Services Associate/Senior Associate Commercial Solicitor - national firm - Birmingham - 2+ PQE/4+ PQE This is a great opportunity to join a market leading non-contentious Financial Services team (that sits within the firm's Commercial Group) in Birmingham undertaking retail financial services work. This national team works with household name clients on complex legal issues to find innovative solutions. The firm As a Financial Services Solicitor at this firm, you would be joining a team that: · Stands out in the market for the quality of its lawyers, clients and the way it delivers advice. · Is known for being a collaborative and close knit. · Has grown substantially nationally in recent times. The work Financial Services is a broad area, but the ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of: · The Consumer Credit Act 1974 and be proficient in drafting regulated consumer credit documents. · The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, and the Financial Conduct Authority Handbook and able to advise clients on the regulatory perimeter, authorisation applications, being an FCA authorised firm, the Senior Managers and Certification Regime, Appointed Representatives, outsourcing arrangements and general compliance. · Payment services and e-money will also be an advantage. The candidate The successful Financial Services Solicitor, will be: · A qualified solicitor with 2+ years' experience for the Associate level role or 4+ years' experience for the Senior Associate role, in this niche area of law or a keen desire to move into this area and transferable skills. · A creative individual and a self-starter who can work autonomously with the support of a team. · Someone with a passion for the work they do, the clients they work with and the team they work in. · Someone with demonstrable experience of supervising juniors and managing clients. · Someone with excellent drafting skills, attention to detail and a genuine interest in the Financial Services sector.
