Commercial Associate 2-5 PQE - Managed Legal Services team - leading international firm - Birmingham (with hybrid working) This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a junior to mid level Solicitor to join a leading international law firm as a member of a large and rapidly expanding Managed Legal Services Delivery team that works on a broad range of commercial contract and wider operational matters for clients both domestically and internationally. This is a permanent and employed position. No long hours' culture with no traditional fee earning targets. The role will be challenging, varied and at the cutting-edge of change in the delivery of legal services. This team is a global group within the firm providing a range of professional services including flexible services, legal project management, consulting and technology, diversity and inclusion consultancy, and managed legal services to its clients. The Role The successful applicant will understand the importance of innovative delivery solutions and understand how to support a varied client base as an extension of their in-house legal team. The work that the team undertake, although not strategic in nature, is highly important and requires quality legal expertise. This team make excellent use of legal technology helping clients achieve more through simplification, standardisation and automation of their processes and documents. Specifically, the successful candidate will: · Work in a team that provides services to clients in contracting, conveyancing, claims management, company secretarial, document review and class actions. · Build relationships internally and externally that encourage the further growth. · Lead on strategic casework and manage contracts and engagement terms. · Take ownership for development and/or strategic projects, these could relate to a variety of matters including changes in law, process technology updates and delivery model improvements. About you The successful Associate in Managed Legal Services will: · Be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of two years' PQE ideally with a commercial contracts focus during that time. · Be technically excellent in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a wide range of mainstream commercial contracts. · Experience of working on data protection advice would be advantageous but not essential. · Have previous experience of working with a legal service provider, a large in-house legal team or at a large law firm. · Have the ability to understand a client's business problems and develop innovative solutions. · Have energy, drive and enthusiasm.
