Contentious Construction Senior Associate/Principal Associate | 4+ PQE/7+ PQE | International Law Firm | Birmingham | Blended Home/Office Working BCL Legal is delighted to be assisting on this exciting opportunity for an experienced Contentious Construction Lawyer to join a top international law firm, recognised as one of the leading global players in construction and engineering disputes. With an award-winning team, you'll have the chance to work on complex, high-value projects for some of the biggest names in the sector, spanning national and international clients across energy, infrastructure, and the built environment. At the Senior Associate level, the firm will consider solicitors with a minimum of 4 years' PQE and at the Principal Associate level, candidates should have a minimum of 7 years' PQE. The Role: As a Senior Contentious Construction Solicitor, you will: * Lead and manage contentious construction matters, with a focus on high-profile, complex cases in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and large-scale development. * Handle a wide range of disputes, including High Court proceedings, international arbitration, adjudication, and TCC proceedings. * Offer strategic and commercial advice on dispute avoidance and resolution, helping clients navigate challenges and ensure successful outcomes. * Collaborate with senior colleagues across the firm and mentor junior team members. * Take a proactive role in business development, helping shape the future of the practice. Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate will have: * At least 4 or 7 years of PQE (depending on level of role) in contentious construction law (or a mix of contentious and non-contentious experience). * Expertise in handling complex construction and engineering disputes, with a solid understanding of construction contracts and dispute resolution mechanisms. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and deliver exceptional service. * A strategic mindset and the ability to think commercially, guiding clients through the most challenging legal issues. * A proven track record in business development, with a focus on growing relationships and winning new work.
