Planning Senior Associate | 6+ PQE | Top-Tier International Firm | Birmingham BCL Legal is delighted to be assisting a prestigious international law firm in its search for a Senior Associate Planning Lawyer to join their award-winning Energy & Infrastructure team in Birmingham. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced planning solicitor to work on some of the UK's most complex, nationally significant energy and infrastructure projects. The Role Joining one of the UK's largest and most respected planning teams, you will work alongside market-leading specialists on a broad spectrum of consenting and advisory matters. The role will focus heavily on nationally significant infrastructure projects and cutting-edge energy schemes. You will: · Advise on complex projects under the Planning Act 2008, Transport and Works Act 1992, and Town and Country Planning Act 1990. · Support major developments involving compulsory acquisition, EIA/HRA, planning inquiries, and judicial reviews. · Act for high-profile clients across sectors such as offshore wind, solar, nuclear, water, airports, roads, ports, and carbon capture. · Play a key role in the delivery of Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and lead on cross-disciplinary matters. · Contribute to high-value, strategically important infrastructure projects for clients such as major energy companies, developers, and transport bodies. The Candidate This opportunity is ideal for a planning solicitor with at least 6 years' PQE and experience in major infrastructure or energy-related projects. You'll need: · A strong understanding of infrastructure planning, compulsory purchase, and environmental assessments. · Experience advising on DCOs and nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs). · Excellent technical knowledge, alongside a commercial and solution-focused mindset. · A proactive approach to business development and client engagement. · Strong team working skills and a genuine enthusiasm for energy and infrastructure work.
