Real Estate Senior Associate | 6+ PQE | National Firm | Birmingham (Hybrid Working)
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Senior Associate (6+ PQE) to join its growing national team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused lawyer to work on high-quality commercial and residential development (and some real estate finance) matters with the support of a collaborative and ambitious national team.
The Role
You'll be joining a dynamic real estate team handling a wide range of development-led and finance-driven transactions across a variety of sectors. This is a client-facing role that offers plenty of opportunity for career development, as well as the chance to supervise junior lawyers and collaborate across the firm with teams such as planning, construction, corporate, banking, and litigation.
Key responsibilities include:
· Acquisitions of residential and commercial development sites and disposals following development
· Advising on and negotiating development funding agreements with forward funders
· Acting for lenders on real estate finance matters, including undertaking property due diligence and managing CPs
· Supporting corporate colleagues on real estate aspects of M&A deals and feeding into share and asset purchase agreements
· Sales and disposals of investment properties subject to occupational leases
· Drafting and negotiating leases for institutional landlords and tenants
You will play a key role in delivering excellent client service while also contributing to the firm's strategic growth and business development initiatives.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
· 6+ years' PQE in real estate, ideally with demonstrable experience in development work
· Confidence in running your own caseload and supervising more junior colleagues
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commercial and pragmatic approach
· A collaborative working style and the ability to contribute across multi-disciplinary teams
· A proactive attitude toward client development and relationship building
· Solid drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis capabilities
