Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer | Associate 1-5 PQE | National Law Firm | Birmingham/Hybrid BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading national law firm in their search for a talented Construction Associate (1-5 PQE) to join their expanding team in Birmingham. This is a superb opportunity for a lawyer with early to mid-level post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction to join a team known for its high-profile national work, collaborative culture, and strong career progression opportunities. The Role As a Construction Associate, you will: · Advise a diverse client base including developers, contractors, registered providers, and public sector bodies on a wide range of non-contentious construction matters. · Support on major development and regeneration projects, including infrastructure and sustainable construction schemes. · Assist in drafting and negotiating key project documentation including building contracts, professional appointments, warranties, and framework agreements. · Collaborate with teams across real estate, planning, corporate, and finance to deliver integrated legal support on complex transactions. · Be encouraged to contribute to client development, team initiatives, and thought leadership within the sector. About You The ideal candidate will have: · Between 1 and 5 years' PQE in non-contentious construction law, gained at a national or respected regional firm. · A good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, and an interest in procurement and project structuring. · Strong commercial acumen and a practical, solution-focused approach to advising clients. · Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. · A genuine enthusiasm for the construction sector and a desire to build a long-term career in a market-leading practice.
