Construction Solicitor (1+ PQE) | Leading National Firm | Birmingham / Hybrid Working BCL Legal is pleased to be assisting a highly respected national law firm in the recruitment of a Construction Solicitor to join their dynamic and well-regarded Birmingham team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience looking to develop their career across a varied mix of contentious and non-contentious construction work. The Role Joining a nationally recognised Real Estate department, you will become part of a collaborative and forward-thinking Construction team acting for a diverse client base including developers, contractors, public bodies, and major institutions. You'll handle a broad range of matters and work alongside leaders in the field on high-profile and complex projects. Key Responsibilities Include: · Managing your own caseload of construction matters spanning both contentious and non-contentious work. · Assisting on large-scale projects and disputes alongside senior colleagues. · Drafting and negotiating construction contracts (JCT, NEC4, and bespoke forms), consultancy appointments, collateral warranties, and related documentation. · Advising clients on procurement strategies, risk management and project delivery. · Supporting dispute resolution via adjudication, mediation, arbitration, and litigation. · Collaborating with colleagues across the Real Estate, Commercial, and wider teams. · Playing a role in business development and relationship management. · Working on a hybrid basis, typically 2-3 days per week in the Birmingham office. About You To be considered for this role, you will: · Be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience. · Have some experience in construction law, whether contentious, non-contentious, or both. · Possess excellent drafting and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail. · Be confident working directly with clients and providing commercially focused advice. · Enjoy working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. · Be highly organised with the ability to manage deadlines and juggle priorities.
