Real Estate - Regeneration, Development and Infrastructure Legal Director | International Law Firm | Birmingham/Hybrid BCL Legal is excited to assist a leading law firm in the recruitment of an experienced Legal Director to join their highly regarded Regeneration, Development and Infrastructure team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior solicitor with expertise in utilities and infrastructure projects to play a pivotal role in shaping complex, high-profile projects across the UK. The Opportunity: You will be leading a team focusing on large-scale energy and utility projects, providing expert legal guidance on property-related matters within the energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. Your role will involve advising a range of public and private sector clients on critical projects with significant impact. Your caseload will include: · Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating property agreements such as leases, easements, wayleaves, licences, and land acquisition documents. · Advising on land rights and title issues, including due diligence and resolving title defects. · Supporting land assembly for major utility projects like grid upgrades and pipeline installations. · Managing land access and securing third-party rights for infrastructure development. · Negotiating infrastructure agreements and land access strategies for energy and utility clients. · Leading legal project management to support the delivery of key mandates. · Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members. What We're Looking For: We are seeking a qualified solicitor with strong experience in commercial real estate law, ideally within the utilities or infrastructure sectors. This role is suited to someone with a proven track record of leading teams and managing complex, high-value transactions. Key requirements include: · Qualified solicitor in England & Wales. · Strong experience in commercial real estate law with a focus on utilities or infrastructure sectors. · Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. · Knowledge of statutory undertaker rights and land law. · Experience working with public sector bodies or regulated industries. · Leadership experience with a focus on mentoring and team development. · A strategic, client-facing approach to legal services.
