Commercial Contracts Lawyer | 6+ PQE | Leading International Firm | Birmingham (12 month FTC) BCL Legal is pleased to be assisting a leading international law firm in its search for a Principal Associate to join its Commercial IT & Outsourcing team in Birmingham on a fixed term contract of up to 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded commercial, IT and data team working with major public and private sector clients on complex commercial contracts. The role is offered on a full-time basis with hybrid working as standard, alongside an excellent salary and benefits package. The Role As a Principal Associate in this team, you will: · Work within a highly regarded commercial, IT and outsourcing practice advising on a wide range of commercial contracts across multiple sectors. · Advise both private and public sector clients on strategically important projects as well as day-to-day commercial arrangements. · Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including IT outsourcing, SaaS arrangements, logistics agreements, supply chain contracts and large procurement projects. · Work with clients across sectors including automotive, aerospace, retail, food and drink, real estate, life sciences, financial services, healthcare and telecoms. · Support and supervise junior lawyers while contributing to the collaborative culture of the team. · Play a key role in delivering high-quality, pragmatic commercial advice on complex and high-profile projects. About You To be successful in your application for this Principal Associate vacancy, you will have: · A minimum of 6 years' PQE with strong experience in commercial contracts, ideally gained in private practice at a recognised commercial firm. · Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, ideally including IT, outsourcing or large procurement projects. · The ability to handle a varied workload with minimal supervision and deliver commercially focused advice. · Experience supervising or supporting junior lawyers. · A strong academic background and excellent drafting skills. · A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with strong negotiation skills and sound commercial judgement.
