Public Procurement Lawyer | Associate (NQ-4 PQE) | International Law Firm | Birmingham/Hybrid
BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading international law firm in their search for an Associate to join their market-leading Public Procurement team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded national practice working alongside a Tier 1 Chambers ranked partner on complex and high-profile procurement matters across a range of sectors.

The Role
As an Associate in the Public Procurement team, you will:
· Advise clients on a broad range of public procurement matters, including complex procurement procedures, procurement structures and evaluation processes.
· Draft and advise on procurement documentation under the Procurement Act 2023 and the previous procurement regime, including tender notices, procurement questionnaires, invitation documents and transparency notices.
· Act for a diverse client base including local authorities, central government departments, NHS trusts, housing providers, charities and private sector bidders.
· Support clients across a range of sectors including housing, local government, health, energy, care and construction/development.
· Play an active role in business development initiatives including client events, networking, seminars and thought leadership.
· Collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider national real estate and projects teams.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
· Qualified solicitor status in England & Wales (NQ-4 PQE) with demonstrable experience in procurement law.
· Strong technical and analytical skills with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
· Experience advising public and/or private sector clients on procurement matters.
· Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
· A proactive and collaborative approach to team working and business development.
· An interest in sectors including housing, local government, energy, health or development projects.
