Knowledge Management Lawyer | Commercial | 3+ PQE | Leading UK Law Firm | Flexible Part-Time | Birmingham
BCL Legal is pleased to be working with a highly regarded UK law firm on the appointment of a Knowledge Management Lawyer to support its national Commercial team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer looking to move into a knowledge-focused role, or for an existing Knowledge Management Lawyer seeking a new challenge. Offered on a flexible part-time basis (ideally 3 or 4 days per week), the role provides the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the team's technical excellence, knowledge strategy and client offering.
Working as part of an established Knowledge Management function, you will support a national Commercial team advising on a broad range of commercial matters, while enjoying a flexible hybrid working model and genuine work-life balance.
The Role
Working closely with partners, fee earners and the wider Knowledge Management team, you will:
· Monitor and analyse legislative, regulatory and legal developments affecting the Commercial team, providing timely horizon scanning and technical updates.
· Produce high-quality thought leadership, articles and client-facing content on legal developments and emerging issues.
· Design and deliver technical training for lawyers and clients across a wide range of commercial law topics.
· Provide technical research and knowledge support to fee earners on complex legal queries.
· Develop, maintain and update precedents, templates and knowledge resources to support the team's work.
· Capture and share best practice, ensuring valuable know-how is retained and accessible across the team.
· Support the implementation of legal technology and innovation initiatives to enhance client service.
· Contribute to business development activity through technical expertise, client materials and pitch support.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
· A minimum of 3 years' PQE as a solicitor in England & Wales.
· Strong technical expertise in one or more areas of commercial law, including commercial contracts, IT, data protection, transport, infrastructure or regulatory and compliance work.
· Excellent drafting, analytical and legal research skills.
· A genuine interest in knowledge management, legal innovation and technical excellence.
· Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging training and produce high-quality written content.
· A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across a national team.
· Experience in financial services regulation and/or intellectual property would be advantageous but is not essential.
