Commercial Associate Solicitor 1-6 PQE | National Law Firm | Hybrid Working | Birmingham BCL Legal is working with a leading national law firm on the recruitment of a Commercial Solicitor / Associate to join its growing Commercial team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to work on a broad range of complex commercial contracts within a leading national practice. The successful candidate will join the firm's Commercial, Regulatory and Data Practice Group, advising clients across a range of sectors on critical commercial contracting matters, including public sector procurement, technology and IP, AI, commodity contracting and strategic partnering arrangements. The Role As a Commercial Solicitor / Associate, you will: · Advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including supply and services agreements, technology and IP agreements, local government frameworks and strategic partnering agreements. · Support clients across both the public and private sectors, including retail, manufacturing, technology, data, energy and public sector organisations. · Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements. · Work directly with clients and contribute to developing long-term client relationships. · Assist with commercial contract due diligence as part of wider corporate transactions. · Collaborate with colleagues nationally across the firm's commercial and sector-focused teams. · Contribute to business development initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team. · Manage a varied workload effectively, meeting deadlines while maintaining a high standard of client service. · Continue to develop your technical and commercial knowledge through training, supervised practice and keeping up to date with industry developments. Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will have: · Qualification as a solicitor with experience in commercial contracts. · Strong drafting and written communication skills, with confidence in negotiating contractual terms. · A commercially minded approach and genuine interest in understanding clients' business objectives. · The ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. · Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines. · A self-motivated and performance-driven approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice. · A collaborative and team-focused approach, with a willingness to learn and develop. · An ambition to build their skills and progress within a growing national commercial practice.
