Associate / Senior Associate - Banking & Finance (Leveraged Finance Focus) | Leading UK Law Firm | Manchester-Based Role with National Reach An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a driven and commercially minded Banking & Finance Associate or Senior Associate (leveraged finance focus) to join the Manchester office of a top-tier UK law firm, nationally recognised for its progressive culture, collaborative ethos, and strong client relationships across the financial services sector. This role offers the chance to join an ambitious, expanding team and to play a key role in the continued growth of a nationally integrated Banking & Finance practice with deep expertise in sponsor-led transactions, corporate lending, and venture finance. The Opportunity: Operating as part of a highly regarded, fully integrated national team, the successful candidate will focus on leveraged finance and growth lending transactions, working closely with major UK banks, institutional lenders, and high-growth borrowers. The Manchester office provides a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where associates are encouraged to shape their practice and contribute to the development of the local market presence. With access to high-value, complex transactions and a client base that spans private equity sponsors, growth companies, and financial institutions, this is an outstanding platform for ambitious lawyers seeking to build their name in the North West and beyond. Key Responsibilities: Acting on leveraged and corporate finance transactions, often with multi-jurisdictional elements Advising on sponsor-led and borrower-side deals, including growth lending and venture debt Drafting and negotiating a range of financing documents including LMA-style facility agreements, security documents, and intercreditor arrangements Supporting transactions through their full lifecycle, including refinancings, bolt-on acquisitions, and restatements Collaborating closely with internal corporate, restructuring, and real estate teams to deliver joined-up legal advice Helping develop client relationships, contributing to business development initiatives and the ongoing expansion of the firm's Manchester footprint Candidate Profile: Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 3-7 years' PQE (guideline only - strong candidates outside this range will also be considered) Solid grounding in banking and finance law, with hands-on experience in leveraged or structured finance transactions Commercial approach, strong technical ability, and a clear commitment to client service Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, ideally with exposure to LMA documentation Interest in contributing to the growth of a high-performing team in a collaborative, supportive environment Confidence working across both borrower and lender mandates Why Apply?
