Associate /Senior Associate - Residential Development (3+ PQE)

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a talented Associate or Senior Associate (3+ years PQE) to join one of the UK's most respected residential development teams, advising an exceptional portfolio of national housebuilders, developers and institutional landowners.
This is a rare role, ideal for a lawyer with strong commercial property or residential development experience, looking to join a collaborative and well-structured team with a true national footprint.
The Role
As a Associate/Senior Associate, you will play a key role in delivering expert legal advice to major players in the residential development sector. You'll gain exposure to high-value transactions and complex regeneration schemes and at the senior associate level you will mentor junior team members and drive client engagement.
Key responsibilities:
Advising on complex land acquisition deals, strategic land arrangements (options, promotion agreements), overage, transfers and ancillary documents.
Supporting regeneration schemes and JV developments with public sector bodies and Registered Providers (RPs).
Acting on large-scale disposals of affordable housing and bulk sales to PRS and BTR operators.
Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers (0-3 PQE) and trainees, ensuring high standards of client service and legal output.
Participating in client training, thought leadership and BD initiatives across the firm's national network.
The Team:
The team is at the forefront of the market, delivering full-lifecycle legal support on developments from 50 homes to multi-billion-pound urban extensions and regeneration schemes.
The firm's Plot Sales team handles £3 billion worth of new home sales annually via a streamlined, tech-led model - adding value for clients through efficient, scalable delivery.
About You:
We're looking for a personable and driven legal professional who is passionate about residential development. You will bring technical excellence, commercial awareness and strong interpersonal skills to an environment that values teamwork, innovation and client service.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
3+ years PQE within commercial real estate or residential development law (experience in residential development preferred, not essential).
Confidence in handling complex transactions and client matters independently.
The ability to supervise, mentor and support more junior team members.
Strong attention to detail and commercial acumen.
A collaborative, "can-do" attitude and excellent communication skills.
An ambition to help grow client relationships and contribute to BD initiatives.
