Court of Protection Solicitor - Manchester | Hybrid Working | 2+ Years PQE- SOLICITOR OR CILEX
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join a respected legal team specialising in Court of Protection matters, based in Manchester city centre. This role is perfect for a qualified solicitor or legal executive with 2+ years PQE and essential Court of Protection experience, looking to advance their career in a supportive and client-focused environment.
About the Role:
You will manage a varied caseload within the Court of Protection team, providing exceptional client care while adhering to the firm's National Practice Standards. Key responsibilities include:
Drafting applications for the appointment of deputies for property and affairs
Handling statutory will applications and gift applications
Preparing annual Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) accounts
Liaising with investment managers, financial planners, and other third parties
Organising property purchases and adaptations to meet client needs
Applying your in-depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
Working in accordance with Professional Deputy Standards
Adjusting your approach to suit the capacity level of each client
Achieving agreed financial and non-financial objectives
Managing relationships with internal teams and external parties to ensure efficient matter progression
Supervising junior colleagues' fee-earning work
Participating in marketing and business development activities at firm or departmental level
What We're Looking For:
Qualified solicitor or legal executive with 2+ years PQE (or equivalent experience) in Court of Protection work
Proven experience drafting and managing Court of Protection applications and related matters
Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deputyship regulations
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to provide sensitive, clear advice tailored to clients with varying levels of capacity
A collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships internally and externally
Ambition to develop your expertise within a growing and highly regarded Court of Protection team
