Senior Associate - Legal Director Role | Real Estate Commercial Development | Manchester | Hybrid Working We are currently working with a leading international law firm seeking to expand their highly regarded Real Estate team in Manchester. Due to continued growth and an increasing portfolio of high-profile clients, they are looking for an ambitious Senior Associate or Legal Director with strong experience in Commercial Development to join their team and drive forward the firm's growth in this space. About the Role This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Senior Associate or Legal Director looking to grow their client base and take on more responsibility. You will work on diverse commercial development projects across real estate, retail, and hospitality sectors, including site acquisitions, development agreements, planning, construction, and large-scale project management. The Manchester Real Estate Development team is known for its work on high-profile commercial developments, advising clients on everything from site acquisitions to investment, planning, and sustainability. The team focuses on retail, office, mixed-use, and industrial developments, and supports clients with licensing, regulatory matters, and tenant management. They also offer comprehensive advice on funding, joint ventures, and development finance, working across the entire project lifecycle with clients in various sectors, including developers, investors, and government bodies. This role provides the chance to build client relationships, contribute to business development, and collaborate with senior partners, with a clear path to Partnership. Key Responsibilities · Lead on complex commercial development matters, advising clients on site acquisitions, disposals, and development agreements. · Take the lead on managing client relationships and play an active role in business development to grow your own client base. · Mentor and guide junior associates, helping to shape the future of the team. · Work alongside senior partners, contributing to the growth and strategic direction of the practice. · Drive the firm's business development initiatives and seize opportunities to expand your profile and expertise. Skills & Experience · At least 5 years' PQE in Real Estate, with a strong focus on commercial development. · Proven experience in handling site acquisitions, development agreements, and complex real estate transactions. · Strong understanding of planning, construction, and funding issues, with the ability to advise clients strategically on development projects. · A go-getter with a proactive approach to business development and an eagerness to build and develop your own client base. · A clear desire to progress towards Partnership and take on increasing responsibility. · Excellent communication and client management skills. · Experience mentoring junior team members and taking on leadership responsibilities is desirable.
