Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney - New York, NY (Hybrid)
Salary: $115,000 - $175,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits
We're currently working with a nationally recognized litigation firm that is looking to add a Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney to its busy and growing New York City office.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a defense litigation attorney who wants to focus on high-impact work within the healthcare and long-term care space. The position offers immediate exposure to complex cases, a supportive team environment, and a flexible hybrid working model.
The Opportunity
You'll join a highly regarded medical malpractice defense team, working on behalf of hospitals, healthcare systems, physicians, and long-term care providers. The firm is known for its strong mentorship culture, professional development pathways, and national reputation in healthcare defense litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload of medical malpractice claims, including COVID-related litigation
- Appear regularly in court and take/defend depositions
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and case evaluations
- Work closely with partners and other team members on legal strategy and client communication
- Provide high-level client service with regular case status updates
About You
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in New York
- Minimum 1 year of litigation experience (medical malpractice preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and proactive; able to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience in legal project management is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $115,000 - $175,000 (commensurate with experience)
