The Opportunity
This is a senior-level role within the Finance team, with a focus on real estate finance and asset-backed lending. You'll work closely with partners on complex transactions ranging from $1M to $1B in value. The role will involve negotiating and drafting finance documentation, overseeing due diligence, advising on collateral structures, and managing closings.
You'll be supported by a well-organized team of associates and paralegals, while maintaining direct access to clients. The firm's culture fosters autonomy, transparency, and entrepreneurial thinking-ideal for a lawyer looking to deepen their expertise and develop a long-term practice.
What You'll Be Doing
- Drafting and negotiating borrower- and lender-side finance documents
- Advising on secured lending, including title and survey matters and UCC compliance
- Conducting due diligence and summarizing key findings
- Managing complex financing transactions across various sectors
- Collaborating across the real estate, corporate, and finance practices
- Supporting client relationships with a commercial, solution-oriented approach
Candidate Profile
To be considered, you will need:
- 7+ years' experience in finance law, ideally with a mix of real estate and asset-backed finance matters
- A Texas law license
- Strong working knowledge of security interests, corporate governance documents, and perfection mechanics
- Excellent drafting and client communication skills
- A track record of working efficiently across multiple priorities and transactions
