About the Role - Head of Legal: Reporting to the Legal Director, and with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the legal function, as Head of Legal you will will enjoy a high level of autonomy, and play a key role in shaping legal strategy, managing risk, and supporting business growth. Key responsibilities · Lead and manage the legal team, overseeing delivery of commercial contracts and legal support across the business. · Provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of matters including commercial, regulatory, employment, and marketing. · Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with partners and suppliers, ensuring legal risks are identified and mitigated. · Enhance legal operations through automation, AI tools, and self-service solutions to improve efficiency and consistency. · Manage external legal counsel relationships to ensure cost-effective, high-quality support. · Deliver legal training and upskilling to internal teams, promoting legal awareness across the business. · Monitor legal and regulatory developments to ensure ongoing compliance and commercial readiness. This role is ideal for a Senior Legal Counsel or Senior Associate ready to step up and assume great responsibility, or perhaps for an experienced Head of Legal seeking a fresh challenge in a forward-thinking, dynamic and agile business. What we're looking for: · UK-qualified solicitor with at least 6 years PQE. · Background in a full-service national or international law firm, with in-house experience advantageous. · Proven ability to lead legal workstreams in a fast-paced, commercial environment-ideally within a tech-led or high-growth business. · Strong experience in negotiating and managing a wide range of commercial agreements. · Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. · Experience mentoring or managing junior legal professionals. · Confident in assessing legal risk independently and escalating when necessary. · Familiarity with legal operations tools, automation, or AI-powered legal tech is a plus.
