Are you a UK-qualified solicitor with a passion for complex legal challenges, and a proven track record in drafting and negotiating high-value procurement contracts? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded solicitor to join our multinational client as Legal Counsel, Procurement. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-profile corporate business environment, and to lead on internationally significant projects in the procurement space. About the Role - Legal Counsel, Procurement: Working in collaboration with both the in-house legal and procurement teams, as the dedicated Legal Counsel, Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to day procurement strategy of this multinational company. Your expertise in drafting and negotiating complex procurement contracts will be crucial as you collaborate closely with the company's internal teams, and your presence will help to develop and strengthening the legal teams relationship with the procurement function. Key responsibilities include: - Drafting and Negotiating Complex Contracts: Involvement in large-scale and complex procurement contracts for high-value multi-year projects; - Strategic Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on procurement matters, ensuring that contracts align with company policy, and domestic and international legal / regulatory requirements; - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work extensively with internal procurement teams to support and drive business-critical projects, safeguarding the company's commercial interests; - Project Leadership: Take a lead legal role in significant procurement initiatives, delivering strategic solutions that enhance efficiencies and mitigate risks; - Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on legal strategies and contract execution. About you. Who we're looking for: We are seeking an individual who brings both relevant expertise and enthusiasm to the role. The ideal candidate is anticipated to possess: - UK Qualification & PQE: A UK-qualified solicitor with a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience (PQE). - Relevant Experience: Practical and extensive experience of drafting and negotiating large, complex procurement contracts, ideally gained within a major commercial law firm or in-house legal department. - Commercial Acumen: A deep understanding of high-value and complex multi-year contracts, with the ability to offer strategic legal advice that supports robust business outcomes, whilst minimising commercial risk. - International Exposure: Experience working in an international environment is highly desirable, although not an absolute requirement.
