Role - Legal Counsel
As Legal Counsel you will have involvement in a wide range of commercial contractual, general commercial advisory and company secretarial/corporate matters; to include:
1. reviewing, drafting, negotiating, interpreting and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, from both a supplier and customer perspective;
2. maintaining and updating legal records, tracking the progress of transactions, and drafting, maintaining, and updating precedents and template documentation;
3. providing ad hoc commercial legal advice to stakeholders across the organisation, and responding to general queries;
4. supporting on project work as directed by the head of department;
5. maintaining in-house company registers, and supporting with wider Company Secretarial matters such as corporate governance, company documentation, shareholder relations, company filings and wider compliance matters;
The role reports into an experienced general counsel who will support and guide you as you transition and learn about the company, and they will be there to offer guidance and direction as required.
About you:
This role would suit a qualified Solicitor or experienced Legal Executive, with experience of commercial law, gained in-house and/or in private practice.
It is anticipated that applicants with have 2-4 years' PQE (or similar) however there is flexibility to include those with less PQE, particularly if you have demonstrable pre-qualification legal experience in a commercial discipline.
To ensure a good fit, applicants should be commercially focused, possess a practical approach, and be comfortable working autonomously using their own initiative when required.
Working arrangements:
The head of department is open to full-time or part-time (4 days) working, and the company also offers flexible working arrangements. Core hours are 10-4pm and you can start/finish early or late to suits you needs.
Package:
A basic salary of up to £65,000 + 10% discretionary bonus + 5% employer pension contribution + 4x life assurance + health cash plan + other benefits.
