BCL is pleased to be working on behalf of a leading national law firm that is recruiting for an Associate to join its highly regarded Financial Services Disputes & Investigations (FSDI) team in Birmingham. This opportunity is ideal for a qualified lawyer with 1-4 years PQE.
As one of the largest and most established teams in the UK specialising in financial services litigation, the FSDI team comprises over 150 professionals across offices in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Glasgow. The team is ranked in the top tier by Chambers for financial services litigation outside of London.
Your Role:
As an Associate in the FSDI team, you will be involved in:
Managing a varied caseload of financial services disputes, working with high-profile clients across banking, investment, fraud, and regulatory matters.
Providing strategic, commercial legal advice and working closely with senior colleagues to deliver client solutions.
Contributing to business development, strengthening client relationships, and exploring opportunities for new business.
Collaborating with colleagues across the firm's national network of offices, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
A qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered) with 1-4 years PQE.
Experience in financial disputes, commercial litigation, or similar areas such as insurance or property litigation.
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with a focus on client service and commercial awareness.
An enthusiasm for business development and the ability to manage your workload efficiently.
A proactive, team-oriented attitude with the ambition to progress in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The firm's FSDI practice is one of the largest and most respected in the UK. They advise a diverse range of clients, from major clearing banks and building societies to fintechs and international banks. The team handles all aspects of contentious financial services issues, from dispute resolution and pre-litigation management to alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
