Restructuring & Insolvency Solicitor / Associate | 2-7 PQE | Leading International Law Firm | Birmingham A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Restructuring & Insolvency Solicitor or Associate (2-7 PQE) to join its highly regarded Restructuring & Insolvency (R&I) team in Birmingham. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with one of the most experienced and respected global restructuring practices, advising on complex and high-profile domestic and cross-border matters. The Team The firm's Restructuring & Insolvency practice is one of the largest of its kind, with over 130 lawyers across 36 offices in 15 countries. The global team is renowned for handling some of the most significant restructurings and insolvencies in recent history, collaborating seamlessly across jurisdictions. Clients include distressed companies, financial institutions, private equity firms, hedge funds, insolvency practitioners, creditors, trustees, investors, and corporate boards. The team acts across a wide range of sectors including energy, real estate, retail, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and infrastructure. The team advises on all aspects of restructuring and insolvency work, including: Company voluntary arrangements, administrations, and liquidations Distressed M&A and turnaround transactions Cross-border insolvency proceedings and recognition issues Out-of-court restructurings and consensual workouts Insolvency-related disputes and director advisory work Debt restructuring and enforcement strategies The Role This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading R&I practice within a collaborative, ambitious, and supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced partners and senior lawyers, advising on a variety of both contentious and non-contentious restructuring matters for a diverse client base. Key responsibilities include: Managing a broad caseload of restructuring and insolvency matters, including complex multi-jurisdictional cases Advising insolvency practitioners, lenders, and corporate clients on formal insolvencies and restructurings Drafting and negotiating restructuring documentation, security documents, and transactional agreements Supporting clients on insolvency-related litigation and recovery strategies Collaborating with colleagues across Corporate, Banking, Litigation, and Real Estate teams on cross-practice projects Contributing to business development initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team The role offers exposure to international work and the opportunity to develop your skills in one of the most globally integrated R&I teams in the market. About You You will be a qualified solicitor with: 2-7 years' PQE gained within a strong restructuring and insolvency practice Experience advising on both corporate restructuring and formal insolvency procedures Strong technical ability and sound commercial judgment Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients alike Interest in developing expertise in cross-border and complex restructuring work Why Apply?
