Professional Support Lawyer | Senior Associate | Banking & Finance | 4-8 PQE | Birmingham | Hybrid Working Available A leading global law firm is seeking a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to join its prestigious Banking & Finance Practice Group at Senior Associate level (4-8 PQE) in Birmingham. This is a permanent role with flexible hybrid working options. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a high-performing Finance team, working on complex domestic and cross-border transactions for major financial institutions, private equity houses, funds, and corporates. The Role As a key member of the Banking & Finance PSL team, you will provide strategic knowledge support to the practice, enhancing the technical excellence of the team. The role involves a broad range of responsibilities, working closely with senior PSLs, Partners, Associates, and Legal Technologists across the firm. Key responsibilities include: Drafting and updating team precedents Writing and maintaining internal and client-facing guidance, toolkits, and reports Producing bulletins, briefings, and horizon scanning reports Managing current awareness and sector developments Leading knowledge initiatives with senior partners Organising and delivering in-house training, including NQ induction courses Managing the team know-how bank Providing knowledge services to clients Collaborating on legal technology projects Supporting ad hoc technical queries Driving process improvement initiatives The Candidate You will have: At least 4 years' PQE in banking and finance law, with experience in transactional work A particular interest or expertise in one of the following areas: Corporate Debt/Leveraged Finance, Structured Finance, or Energy & Infrastructure Finance Excellent technical skills and attention to detail Strong written and spoken English for both legal and business communications A proactive, creative approach to improving processes and delivering technical excellence Experience or an interest in legal technology and innovation Previous PSL experience is not required. The firm is open to both full-time or part-time candidates (minimum 0.7 FTE), with flexible working arrangements considered. What's on Offer?
