Pensions Associate / Senior Associate / Legal Director | 2+ PQE | Birmingham We are working with a leading national law firm seeking a Pensions Associate, Senior Associate or Legal Director with 2+ years' PQE to join its highly regarded Employment, Pensions and Immigration team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing national practice advising clients across both the public and private sectors on a wide range of complex pensions matters. The team has an outstanding reputation across sectors including health and social care, local government, education, housing, financial services and corporate organisations. The successful candidate will enjoy exposure to high-quality advisory and transactional work within a collaborative environment offering genuine opportunities for progression. The Role Advise clients on all aspects of occupational pension schemes across both the public and private sectors. Support clients with scheme creation, governance, operation, restructuring, compliance and winding-up matters. Provide strategic pensions advice on complex legal and regulatory issues. Advise on pensions aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, including drafting pensions schedules and admission agreements. Support lenders and transactional teams on pensions risk issues. Assist with pensions scheme investments and related advisory work. Handle contentious pensions matters, including Ombudsman complaints, High Court proceedings and claims involving third parties. Work closely with colleagues across a national Employment, Pensions and Immigration practice on multi-disciplinary matters. Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the team. Candidate Requirements Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years' experience specialising in pensions law. Strong technical knowledge across pensions advisory and transactional matters. Experience advising on public sector pensions is advantageous but not essential. Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational abilities with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Commercially aware with the ability to deliver pragmatic, client-focused advice. Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations. Collaborative approach with an interest in mentoring junior colleagues and supporting team development.
