An elite international law firm is seeking a talented Planning Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join its highly regarded Planning team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced lawyer to step into a high-profile role within a top-tier firm known for its collaborative culture, complex instructions, and long-term career progression.
This firm boasts one of the leading Real Estate practices in the City, with the Planning team playing a pivotal role in advising on nationally significant development and infrastructure projects. The group continues to grow in both headcount and reputation, with a particular focus on major London developments, urban regeneration, and energy and transport schemes.
You'll work alongside some of the most respected names in planning law, advising high-calibre clients that include FTSE-listed developers, public sector bodies, and blue-chip corporates. This is a career-defining opportunity to work on landmark projects and play a key role in a busy, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on complex planning law matters, including strategic input on major regeneration and infrastructure schemes.
- Drafting and negotiating planning and highways agreements (s.106, s.278).
- Reviewing and advising on planning applications and environmental impact assessments.
- Supporting on compulsory purchase matters and handling compensation claims.
- Representing clients at planning inquiries and hearings.
- Advising on administrative law, vires issues, and other public law elements.
- Working closely with colleagues across Real Estate, Environment, and Public Law to deliver joined-up commercial solutions.
Candidate Requirements:
- UK-qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in planning law, gained at a respected City, national or regional firm.
- Strong experience advising on major developments, infrastructure or regeneration projects.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client-handling skills.
- Ability to manage complex matters and collaborate across teams.
- Enthusiasm for business development and mentoring junior lawyers.
