ENERGY PROJECTS LAWYER - LONDON
Make your mark in a fast-growing energy projects team shaping the future of sustainability in the UK.
A highly regarded UK commercial law firm is seeking a Projects Lawyer to join its thriving Energy & Resource Management team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially-minded projects or energy lawyer to join one of the UK's most progressive and impactful legal practices in the energy transition space.
The Energy & Resource Management practice sits at the forefront of the UK's decarbonisation agenda, delivering cutting-edge legal advice on high-value infrastructure, energy-from-waste, hydrogen, solar, and EV projects across the public and private sectors.
Recognised in The Times Best Law Firms, Legal 500 and Chambers UK, this nationally ranked team is led by four directory-recognised Partners and continues to win accolades - including repeated shortlisting as Legal Advisor of the Year at the PPP Awards.
As the UK accelerates towards net zero, this team is expanding to meet rising demand. You'll be part of a collaborative group of lawyers driving the legal frameworks behind some of the country's most ambitious energy and resource infrastructure initiatives.
Working alongside market-leading partners and a growing team of sector specialists, you will:
- Lead on energy and infrastructure projects across sectors including energy-from-waste, carbon capture, smart energy systems, renewables, and environmental services.
- Advise public and private sector clients (including central government departments, energy developers, and local authorities) on procurement, contracting, and project delivery.
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial and project agreements, including PPP/PFI and long-term service contracts.
- Support strategic advisory mandates, helping clients achieve ambitious sustainability, decarbonisation, and infrastructure delivery goals.
- Play an active role in business development, client relationship management, and team mentoring.
- Contribute to thought leadership in the evolving net zero and clean tech legal landscape.
This role suits a dynamic, self-starting lawyer with a passion for sustainability, infrastructure and clean energy. While experience in the energy or ERM sectors is advantageous, we welcome candidates with strong projects, commercial, construction or finance backgrounds who are eager to specialise in this space.
You will have:
- A minimum of 4 years' PQE.
- A solid grounding in commercial contracts, infrastructure projects, or PFI/PPP work.
- Experience working in private practice or in-house within relevant sectors.
- The ability to manage client relationships and lead on project delivery with minimal supervision.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for mentoring junior lawyers.
- An interest in growing your personal profile and helping build a nationally prominent practice.
Why Join This Firm?
This is a genuine opportunity to accelerate your legal career in a high-growth area of law, with structured progression and the support of a highly respected partnership.
