SENIOR PROJECTS LAWYER - CONSTRUCTION & INFRASTRUCTURE | INTERNATIONAL LAW FIRM | CITY OF LONDON An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Projects and Construction Lawyer to join a Tier 1-ranked Construction & Infrastructure team at a leading international law firm, based in London. THE ROLE You will join a market-leading team acting for an impressive client roster that includes major UK and international contractors, developers, institutional investors, public sector bodies, and multinational energy companies. The work spans a wide range of sectors, including: - Infrastructure (transport, roads, rail) - Energy (nuclear, renewables, conventional, oil & gas) - Social infrastructure (education, health, housing) - Real estate and development - Water, waste and utilities This role offers exposure to both front-end construction and projects work, with particular emphasis on real estate development and finance-related mandates. You'll be advising on complex, high-risk building developments, safety regulations, and contract negotiation across a broad and high-value portfolio. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Advising on all aspects of construction and project development, particularly transactional and risk-related issues - Supporting major infrastructure, energy and development schemes across the UK and internationally - Working closely with real estate and finance colleagues on cross-disciplinary mandates - Managing key client relationships and helping develop new opportunities - Supervising junior lawyers and contributing to a collaborative team environment - Supporting strategic bids, pitches and knowledge initiatives THE CANDIDATE To be considered, you will be a qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE and a strong track record in construction and projects work, ideally gained in a leading commercial law firm or in-house legal team. You will also demonstrate: - Experience advising on real estate development and construction finance projects - Strong knowledge of UK building safety regulations and construction risk - Excellent drafting, negotiation and commercial skills - The ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike - A proactive, collaborative approach to working across teams and jurisdictions - Exposure to both construction and broader infrastructure projects is an advantage, and flexibility across sectors will be welcomed.
