Senior Associate: Non-Contentious Construction (Projects, Development & Infrastructure) | London
This is a standout opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a market-leading Projects, Development and Construction team within a prominent UK and international law firm. With a strong UK footprint and growing global reach, this firm is widely recognised for its sector-led approach, cutting-edge legal work, and collegiate culture.
The role offers excellent scope for progression, hands-on client contact, and involvement in high-profile, non-contentious construction matters across real estate, housing, energy, education, health, care, and infrastructure.
The Opportunity:
This is a full-time, non-contentious construction position at Senior Associate level, based in the firm's London office. You will be part of a high-performing team advising developers, institutional investors, funders, contractors, consultants, and public bodies on all aspects of construction and development law.
The team is known for its involvement in complex, large-scale regeneration projects, housing and accommodation schemes, renewable energy developments, and infrastructure initiatives. You'll be involved from project inception through to delivery, drafting and negotiating standard form and bespoke contracts and advising on procurement, risk allocation, and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the negotiation and drafting of a wide range of construction documents including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, EPC and EPCM contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties and development agreements
- Advise clients on procurement strategy and risk mitigation in large-scale development and regeneration schemes
- Oversee due diligence exercises for transactional construction matters
- Supervise junior lawyers and support their development through mentoring and day-to-day guidance
- Work closely with partners on client management and business development initiatives
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, legal updates and thought leadership within the team and wider firm
Candidate Requirements:
- At least 5 years' PQE, gained within a recognised construction or projects team
- Demonstrable expertise in non-contentious construction law, including standard and bespoke contracts
- Experience working with clients in key sectors such as housing and accommodation, energy, or infrastructure
- A proactive, collaborative and client-focused approach
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and project management skills
- A desire to play an active role in a growing team with significant career development potential
- Experience in investor-led development and/or large-scale housing projects would be particularly valuable.
