You'll work on complex, high-profile developments that span technology, energy, utilities, healthcare, telecoms and beyond with the autonomy to lead, shape, and grow client relationships. This is a key senior-level hire into the London office's growing non-contentious construction team. Sitting within a highly regarded international real estate group, the construction practice supports domestic and international clients on major development and infrastructure projects across the UK and beyond. You'll advise on the full life cycle of construction and engineering matters from procurement strategy and contract negotiation to delivery and risk management with particular focus on sectors where the built environment intersects with innovation, such as energy transition, data centres, smart cities and critical digital infrastructure. The firm is known for its cross-border collaboration, sector-led approach, and commitment to nurturing senior talent. For a commercially driven senior associate looking to deepen sector expertise, lead on client matters, and step into a visible role, this is an exceptional platform. The Role: - Lead on the drafting, negotiation and advisory aspects of standard form and bespoke construction contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC, FIDIC). - Advise on construction procurement, risk allocation and project delivery. - Work with leading developers, institutional investors, utilities, infrastructure providers and public sector bodies. - Collaborate across departments and jurisdictions especially on projects involving energy, technology, telecoms, and real estate finance. - Support junior colleagues and contribute to knowledge sharing and precedent development. - Play an active role in client development and practice growth, with real scope to build your own client base. Candidate Requirements: - Strong technical knowledge of non-contentious construction law and contract negotiation. - Proven experience advising on major UK and/or international development and infrastructure projects. - Exposure to key sectors such as energy & utilities, telecoms, IT infrastructure, or real estate development. - An interest in cutting-edge sectors such as data centres, energy transition or smart infrastructure (experience in data centre projects is highly advantageous). - A proactive, commercially focused approach with a keen interest in building long-term client relationships. - A collaborative mindset and willingness to support junior team members and cross-practice working. - Excellent communication skills and the confidence to take ownership of client matters. What's on Offer: - A senior role within an expanding and highly respected international construction practice. - Exposure to large-scale, high-value and often cross-border work. - A clear path to progression, with support from partners and access to market-leading training. - A genuinely collaborative, inclusive and international culture. - Hybrid working and a modern, flexible approach to work-life balance.
